The Tyneside Games Expo is the North East’s newest celebration of tabletop gaming, taking place 17–18 October 2026 at Gateshead International Stadium. Whether you’re into board games, RPGs, miniatures, wargaming, or just discovering the hobby, this will be a weekend packed with play, community, and creativity.
The event aims to build on the foundations laid by Farplace games in organising the North East Tabletop Expo in 2024 and 2025. Unfortunately, Farplace had to step back from organising a tabletop expo in the North East. However, as that chapter came to a close, the passion for a regional tabletop gathering didn’t fade. Instead, it sparked something new.
Tyneside Games Expo is now being organised by a new committee who care deeply about the North East gaming community. We’re a group of card gamers, board gamers, miniature gamers, game masters, and creators who want to build an event that feels inclusive, exciting, and helps to build the tabletop community in the North East.
We want to create a welcoming, inclusive space where hobbyists, families, and newcomers alike can come together to discover, share, and celebrate the magic of tabletop gaming. We hope that the Tyneside Games Expo will grow into the region's primary annual tabletop event that brings together people of all ages and backgrounds where, through a shared love of tabletop gaming, new friendships are forged, imagination is sparked, and lots of fun is had.
You’ll see that ethos reflected throughout the event. We will have:
Open gaming space with a well stocked games library.
Demo tables showcasing local creators and indie designers.
A strong presence from the North East's playtest community.
And space for organised play, bringing the community together to share in the joy of tabletop gaming!
We’re just getting started, and we can’t wait to share more about what’s coming. Sign up to our mailing list or follow our socials to be the first to hear updates on exhibitors, tournaments, playtesting opportunities, and plenty more.
